DESPINA SCHINA, CO-FOUNDER
Despina was in parallel Senior member of the Legal Service of the Bank of Greece and a member of legal committees of the European Central Bank until 2010. She has contributed in particular to the development of considerable know-how in the handling of important cases in the areas of banking, competition and state aid law. She has published more than 14 articles and books on issues of Greek and EU law and has addressed many lectures and seminars to Greek and foreign audiences on legal issues.
Despina studied law at the University of Athens (LL.B. with first class honors) and at the London School of Economics (LL.M. specializing in EEC law). From the University of London she was awarded a Ph.D. for her thesis on “The State Aids under the EEC Treaty”.
